Learn about an array of DEI initiatives from leaders across campus
A selection of campuswide initiatives aimed at advancing DEI strategic efforts are highlighted in this video, representing a sampling of the 37 university action items and central infrastructure supporting the DEI Strategic Plan.
In Year Five, these broad-impact initiatives continued to provide the centrally administered programs, consolidated resources, activities and guiding expertise essential to the success of every unit plan. Despite the myriad challenges of COVID-19 coupled with racial unrest and political turmoil, the action items also enabled our entire campus to focus even more intently on anti-racism and to advance DEI efforts.
We will work to create an environment in which all campus community members are welcomed and supported, and perspectives and contributions are sought out and valued.
We will promote an ever-more-diverse student, faculty and staff community on campus and equip individuals with the support and opportunities necessary for their success.
We will be vigilant in ensuring that diversity, equity and inclusion are foundational aspects of our educational program offerings and teaching methodology, and that scholarly research on diversity, equity and inclusion, and the scholars who produce it, are valued and supported.
Notes on Year Five Progress Summaries
Link to each of three overarching DEI goals to view capsule summaries of activities and progress to date. Every item features planned actions, a brief progress update and the accountable office. (Note: all university action items require ongoing collaboration among many offices and individuals.)
In addition, we invite you to explore Campus Spotlights, which highlight initiatives in schools, colleges and administrative units across campus. Keep in mind that these “spotlight” summaries represent only a small fraction of campuswide efforts in Year Five.
As always, goals and actions are implemented in strict accordance with the law and university policy.
